I’m a bit of a detective.

As a skilled registered massage therapist, I act like a detective. I really want to figure out where your pain is located and why it is occurring.

During running injury rehab treatment, I constantly assess the quality of muscles and fascia.

During myofascial release, I stay tuned in to how the body responds to techniques and massage pressure.

Like a detective, I investigate the source of the pain until you are happy with the results.

Let’s look at your training cycle.

When it comes to running injury rehab, as a skilled registered massage therapist, I need to figure out where your pain is coming from.

  • When did your discomfort start in your training cycle?

  • What is your prehab routine (stretching, foam rolling, warm-up and cool down)?

  • Has the terrain you use for running changed?

  • Has your running increased?

Biomechanics matter.

As a skilled registered massage therapist, I pay close attention to your biomechanics. I look for possible muscle imbalances and restrictions during your massage and myofascial release.

While performing running injury rehab, my goal is for you to toe the line and cross the finish line.

A client came in less than a week before their first half-marathon. They could not run more than 2 km without experiencing severe knee pain. We did three running injury rehab treatments that week. Not only did they finish the race, they were only five minutes slower than their original goal time.

Myofascial release can work wonders.

What you can expect from myofascial release:

  • A thorough assessment that includes a history taking

  • A movement and palpation analysis of specific points along and around the joints

  • A friction technique to increase fascia mobility

  • A highly skilled registered massage therapist who helps restore fascial mobility during the running injury rehab treatment

Why fascia matters

Fascia attaches muscles to tendons and tendons to bones. In other words, fascia is everywhere and holds all our parts in the right places.

“While in massage therapy school, I had myofascial release done on my left hamstring. Wowzer! I was able to lift 40 pounds more on my left side than on my right side while doing hamstring curls at the gym that night. Myofascial release is awesome!” ~Brooke
